Meet Brenda Gakii: Our Calm and Collected Finance Admin
Brenda Gakii joined the Mesozi team in early 2018 to help with formalising our Finance, Administration and HR departments and prepare the company for growth. She has stuck with us since then and managed these departments, seeing us slowly but steadily grow from 10 to 25 team members since she joined.
Professional Life:
Brenda pursued a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance at Kenyatta University and a Certificate in Public Accounting (CPA). Prior to joining Mesozi, Brenda worked with Kava Insurance and Financial Services Corporation Africa and interned with Stanlib Kenya as an Investment Intern. At these two jobs, Brenda worked in Finance, management and administration. These roles developed both her work and management skills. She aspires to be a strategic management professional and tax expert, and aims to assist businesses manage risks and adopt sustainable business cultures.
Outside Work:
For Brenda, you can never go wrong with drama investigative series, which is her way of escaping reality after long days of crunching numbers. She also loves meditation which helps her to re-focus and re-energize. While she is not binge watching or meditating, Brenda loves spending time with her family and friends. She is introspective in nature, appreciates loyalty and is a lady of few words.

Working at Mesozi for the last two years has presented a very steep learning curve for me ranging from Human Capital, Financial Reporting, Tax matters and office administration. I believe Mesozi is shaking up the technology industry, and I’m glad to be part of the team bringing this shake-up.
